That Meaux-Jeaux's Gone

Two years ago, we brought Meaux (pronounced "mo") home with his friend Jeaux (pronounced "jo")...two Cajun fish inhabiting two separate bowls but the same place in our hearts. Sadly Jeaux died within months of his arrival here. We lost the Meaux-Jeaux. But Meaux put on a brave face and soldiered on. Until last night. Sadly, Meaux died over night. Goodbye little buddy.

Awww it always sucks when a pet dies, no matter what kind of pet it is. At least now the Meaux-Jeaux is back togeather ;)

Sorry to hear your bad news. I learned the hard way that it's difficult when you name two pets "matching" names and then one goes early. We had Gamble for many years after poor little Proctor had to be put down.

Bahaha! I'm crying, seriously I am. "You seem to have lost your MO-JO, baby!"

sorry to hear about your loss.

I've never, ever heard them called Cajun fish! Interesting. I'd always heard bettas or Chinese Fighting fish.

I had one, named Neptune, that lived for seven and a half years. I originally had one named Captain Winkie, and when he died, my friend gave me hers (Neptune) which she'd had for about 4 years at that point. He was a trooper.

Sad when pet fish, even if they are only fish, die.

That guy lived TWO YEARS? Last time I bought one of those fish, he lasted three days. Just three. I realized he was dead about an hour and a half into telling him all about a rough day I'd had. Very sad to know that you'd bored a fish to death -- a fish who lived in a little jar-type environment and had absolutely nothing else to do to entertain himself except for build bubble nests, mind you.
