Burying Beau

If I haven't introduced him before, this is Beau. He's not one of ours but belongs to my parents. Beau died this morning.

Beau had a heart problem so it wasn't any real surprise that this was going to happen. Actually, its somewhat of a relief. My folks had been told that it would be a painful death, he'd fight it, and it would be horrible to see. They even had an injection of some major painkiller ready to give him should it happen when they were around. They were spared all that.

My parents are strong people but stuff like this gets to them. They've had to put cats to sleep before but since they can't stand to face it, I've always been there in their places while its done. And afterwards I usually end up with a shovel, in search of a final resting place. Today will be no different. And I'm cool with that. Cos me? When something happens to ours I'm going to cry like a little girl and lock myself in the house for a week...or two!

I'm very sorry about Beau. I know when either of my pets die I will do the cry-like-a-girl thing too :\. That is really cool of you though, to be there for your parents like that.

I am sorry about little Beau. I am debating on getting a cat or a dog, but I think I am leaning toward a cat! Beau was so pretty! I got to play with a kitty that looked just like Beau the other day.

That is so nice of you to be there for your parents.

i'm sorry about beau :( my parents had to put our cat teddy to sleep last july -- we'd had him since I was 12. It's weird since I don't live there anymore. Whenever I visit and go to leave, my first instinct is still to find teddy and say goodbye to him.

I'm sorry for Beau. He sure was a beautiful cat.

Very sweet of you to stand by your parents when things like this happen. I hope you find a perfect resting place for Beau.

Awww :( What a sweet kitty.

Pets become family. There's no doubt about that. They are little balls of joy that come into your life and make everyday better. Despite the heartbreak that comes with losing them, the memories and the happiness and love they brought are worth it all.

You are wonderful for doing that. And I am sorry that your parents lost their pet. I don't even want to imagine that day.

Poor Beau... :(

Sorry to hear about Beau. Send the parents love. You're a good boy. Hope you found a nice spot.

:( ,the sadness over the loss of a pet is only understood by other "animal" people. Its something that ties us together b/c the rest of teh world thinks we're fruity. Your parents are in my thought. Beau was abeautiful creature.

Oh I'm so sorry. I can't even think about something happening to my cats, and I don't even like them. I'm sure this is very hard for your parents (and for you).

I'm so sorry about Beau. Good for you for being there for your parents - please extend my sympathies to them.

You're a good guy to do the honors for your parents. We couldn't bear to do it for our cat Seatou, and let the vet handle the cremation details. We were going with "the less we know, the better". We still miss her terribly.

I am so sorry to hear about Beau. :( I am sure this is so hard on your parents. Losing a pet is like losing a child. :(
