The Reveal

I mentioned over the weekend that we'd finally bought new bedroom furniture. The delivery arrived this afternoon and we've spent the afternoon and evening putting the last bits of furniture together.

Without further ado...the new bedroom!

Wood...lots of freaking pieces of wood...

What's up with these funky Ikea dudes? They know people don't look like this, right?

At last...assembled and ready for sleep...

Do I really need a caption here?

My side of the bed...

Again, do you really need a caption? Oh, alright. This young Zulu tribe member sneaks up on the rare African lion only to engage in the ancient African ritual of tickle-the-cat, necessary to achieve manhood and win $2 from his fellow tribemates.

Nice bedroom!

Okay, I didn't realize, according to Ikea you're supposed to put furniture together while naked. Damn, I guess I've been doing it wrong for years.

Posted by: Oliquig at April 7, 2004 8:10 AM

I'm going to guess your wife picked out the bedding. or are you a big floral fan?

How Beauuuuuutiful!
I'm with Sweety, I totally jump on the bed, especially new ones. Gotta see how boucey they are! Sorry about your bad bouncing experience, but until I hit my head, I'm going to go with the whole, "It'll never happen to me" thing.

Okay, okay, but does it have a hemi?

Posted by: Beth at April 7, 2004 9:55 AM

Dude, I totally have that same dresser. Only I didn't put it together quite right so if you push on one side it sort of sways back and forth. That's a damn fine peice of furniture.

Great furniture Chris... but that bedding? Holy hannah, that's gotta go. (My apologies if you guys love it... but my Mom has the same stuff on her bed.)

Also, re: the Ikea dudes, who puts furniture together naked? Because those guys are totally in the buff. I think this falls under the category of "if you have to ask, you don't want to know."

Very nice. Enjoy! - can I say that?

We got the girls one each of the dressers. The bigger, longer, more squat ones. In white. They look almost identical to the Pottery Barn catalog. Everyone comments on them when they walk into the girls room. In fact, the color matches EXACTLY the Pottery Barn Kids desk my mom bought for Bella. Don't you LOVE new furniture? It looks great. =) Those things take FOREVER to put together though.
