Another Sign The Country's Going To Hell
Me: You'll be happy to know that the Presidential address tonight is not being carried by the major networks because of sweeps. So they won't preempt The Swan finale.
Her: We just suck as a country don't we?
Me: Yup.
Still... which do you honestly think is more interesting?
The Swan, or Bush?
Posted by: Tek at May 24, 2004 7:17 PMI was going to say something, but I was so overcome by nausea that I lost my train of thought. I won't say which nauseated me most -BUSH or THE SWAN.

Posted by: Hamitsky at May 24, 2004 8:58 PMOh, that is GREAT!! (Not necessarily the part about the TV stations not wanting to interrupt sweeps, but that the President's speech isn't important enough to warrant them doing it.) Maybe theose TV stations are smarter than we think! :) I can get any relevant updates from his speech when I go online later (if there ARE any, that is).

Posted by: Zandria at May 24, 2004 9:28 PMTo Hell-in-a-hand-basket as they say.
Posted by: Ginny at May 25, 2004 12:02 AMI don't even know what The Swan is. But I'm sure, if I were home, I wouldn't have payed attention to the address anyway. Talk about a yawn-a-minute.
Posted by: Tjej at May 25, 2004 3:45 AMI think this is what he said "there will be dangerous situations before, during and after the new Iraqi governement settles in". Wow. Who would have thought that? *shrug*
I wonder who writes his speeches.
Now I have to do some work, before, during and after I get some coffee.
Posted by: Sweety at May 25, 2004 3:52 AMYou know, regardless of if you like the president or not it's still good to know what he's doing (or wants to tell us that he's doing). I think it's sad that they would choose to air a show about women who are trying to make peace with themselves through plastic surgery instead of airing a presidential speech.
