A Truth

One of the best things about having a beautiful six month-old daughter is that you can hold her and tell her how beautiful she is and she can't yet get away.

Enjoy it while you can.

I can't believe she's 6 months old already!

More importantly, it won't yet go to her head. Recently I told my 4yo how much I love her and she replied, "'Cause I'm so cute?"

P.S. You can also blow raspberries on Mia's tummy without her getting away, which my mother always says is torture but everyone knows it's FUN.

My mother still tries to hold me down and tell me things like that. I tend to roll my eyes.

Do you seriously know females who would run away from you if you told them they were beautiful? I would tend to think any female would want to stay right there in your arms and smile up at you with drool running down their chins, all ga-ga-goo-goo-like.

I read this and thought about the way I pull away from compliments. I suspect if I'd had an adoring father telling me I was beautiful when I was a little girl, I wouldn't do that.

So. Thank you on behalf of the little girl who can't say so for herself. Thank you for raising her to love herself.

LOL. That's one of my favorites too.

... at 6 months old, not only can they NOT get away, but you may just be lucky enough to get a little kiss on the cheek, too! :-)

That ends as soon as they figure out what to do with thier feet. My 2.5 yo will not brush me off and go running away.... sigh.

What a heartwarming entry. Truly. You gave me the warm fuzzies. :)

The same with a five month old son. And you can blow raspberries on their bellies 'til they squeal in giggles.

Ooops. I just noticed Karen said the same thing first.

Snuggling with babies. That was pretty much the highlight of my day, too.

Made me cry again. Dork.

Happily, that state lasts for a little while... but somehow I doubt it'll last as long as I want.

I felt in the same way when I had a baby daughter.I hope once I will go back to that utopian land.

And then they talk - back. A lot. ;-)
