He Said, She Said...He Said, Again

Despite my earlier protests, I know when I've been beaten. Frankly, I knew I was screwed when she uncovered the cricket carcass. This afternoon, I came home and, yes, cleaned the fucking room. Proof:

Now, dear Internet, don't think I'm going to cater to your every whim. Don't think I'll utter the question how high? when you request that I jump. You're nice and all but you're not the boss of me.

Whoa!!! That is a big improvement! I like. You get a gold star for that. We won't let the power go to our heads. As long as your floor stays cricket carcass and dried cat puke free, that is!

Posted by: Ms. Q at February 28, 2006 7:53 PM

Oooohhhh, it's so nice and clean. I hope to god you did that more for Beth than people on the internet. Did you get the cat puke? :>

Posted by: Melissa at February 28, 2006 8:08 PM

Good God, Chris! That room was awful!

Now? Not so much with the awful. But then? AWFUL!

Posted by: Queen of Ass at February 28, 2006 8:09 PM

Very nice. Now the trick is keeping it like that. Of course if you would like it to be a kid-free sanctuary it might have to become unfit for kid-habitation again. Don't tell Beth I said that.

Posted by: Meredith at February 28, 2006 8:10 PM

It's "how high and when can I come down".

Nice room.

Posted by: ann adams at February 28, 2006 8:11 PM

Looks great! I say, just the fact that you could clean it so fast means that it really wasn't that messy.

Posted by: Kris at February 28, 2006 8:13 PM

looks much better than the before pics- I must say you've got a nice setup there, guitars - walls of cd's, Amps, Speakers, I don't think I'd ever leave my house if that was in our house :-)

Posted by: E at February 28, 2006 8:26 PM

It looks beautiful. I'm sending Jeff over here to look at the photos. Hopefully it will give him some inspiration to neaten up the office. You are a paragon of organization and cleanliness.

Posted by: TB at February 28, 2006 8:31 PM

Wow - well done! Are you available to clean other people's rooms as well?

Posted by: Jen at February 28, 2006 8:39 PM

I would have been satisfied if you'd stopped at simply de-catpuking the carpet.

Those pictures remind me of the "guess the number of CDs in RC's collection" contest. My guess was for shit.

Wait a second... is it time for another contest? I think it is!

Posted by: Vaguely Urban at February 28, 2006 8:41 PM

it looks nice. but it wasn't that bad to begin with. however, i'm not known for my housekeeping skills. :)

Posted by: jodi at February 28, 2006 8:41 PM

Whoa!! wait a tick!

You give us "after" pics with NO "before"????

Uh, I'm going to have to side with Beth here.. (posthumously)

Posted by: don at February 28, 2006 8:46 PM

Make me look/feel bad... ;-)

Posted by: JuJu's Mom Linda at February 28, 2006 8:50 PM

ermm...where's the BEFORE photo?

Posted by: kalisah at February 28, 2006 9:24 PM

Nope. I'm not the boss of you.

Mia is.

Posted by: Pammer at February 28, 2006 9:27 PM

LOL - Good job Chris! I wonder if posting a pic of my hubby's messy corner of the bedroom would motivate him to clean it too?

Posted by: Marie at February 28, 2006 10:19 PM

You're such a good cleaner-upper!

I am simply astounded at your CD collection. In awe, really. I'm convinced that if my dad ever let me combine our two collections that we'd have mabey enough to fill up two of your six shelves. Maybe.

Posted by: Emily at February 28, 2006 10:27 PM

no. we are not the boss of you.

mia is.

Posted by: Sarcomical at February 28, 2006 10:28 PM

So- can you make it out to Jersey to clean up my place? LOL!

Posted by: Kate at February 28, 2006 10:35 PM

The photo would have been more effective with a before-and-after shot. But it looks very nice indeed. :)

Posted by: Zandria at February 28, 2006 10:59 PM

I have to say, I give Beth credit for letting you have your own space (and your own accompanying filth) without getting on your ass about it (unless it's up for debate on the internet). That's pretty darn cool.

Posted by: Noelle at February 28, 2006 11:40 PM

We may not be the boss of you, but we know someone who is. :D

Posted by: Gavin at February 28, 2006 11:55 PM

I can almost see the sparkle.

Are you taking customers?

Posted by: Anne at March 1, 2006 12:00 AM

I have wall-o-CDs envy. Are they alphabetized, too? Because that would just send me to the moon.
By the way, your room looks WAY better than the before pics. Now you both win! :)

Posted by: Kristina at March 1, 2006 12:23 AM

Wow.....it looks great now! Can you come clean my apartment? You can just do the bathrooms if you want. lol

Posted by: Dana at March 1, 2006 7:25 AM

I haven't seen the before pics so I have no reference, but the room looks really cleeeaaannnnnnn! Good job!

*a reformed obsessive clean freak*

Posted by: Red at March 1, 2006 7:36 AM

Looks lovely! Yeah, the cricket carcass was pretty bad, but as I said on Beth's site, I have a mountain of laundry in the master bathroom, and lord only knows what else.....

Posted by: donna at March 1, 2006 8:17 AM

Well done! We promise not to ask for anything else. Yet.

Posted by: Julie at March 1, 2006 9:53 AM

Oh Chris! Don't give in! I have to admit, I was on your side on this one. Every person needs their own space, even if slightly messy. What harm is a little dried cat puke and half a cricket? A little extra protein for the Bean, that's all. (I too cleaned up cat puke yesterday). Don't let the internets push you around...

Posted by: Hannah at March 1, 2006 10:51 AM

Hooray for clean play rooms! Now you should post an audiofile of yourself jamming out in your recently cleaned music room, do I spy a waawaa pedal?

Posted by: Betti at March 1, 2006 11:17 AM

Hahaha, I see you've been doing some cleaning!!

Posted by: Ava at March 1, 2006 12:09 PM

That room is real purty. :-)

Posted by: Lisa B at March 1, 2006 4:00 PM

Oh and I could find a dead RAT behind something in a room solely used by my hubby and he would be all, "So. What's your point?"

Posted by: Lisa B at March 1, 2006 4:02 PM

OH MY...ya done gone and ruined my favorite stereotype. lol Men really CAN clean!?!? You're gonna get hate mail from the guys who'd convinced their wives and/or girlfriends otherwise!

Psst...looks good!

Posted by: Jaycie at March 1, 2006 5:07 PM

Yeah, I had almost been on your side, and then I saw the dried cat puke and literally gagged and had to leave the computer. So, I'm really glad you cleaned up! Kudos.
