Bonus Schadenfreude

What's the very worst thing that could possibly get lodged in your brain on a Friday morning? Let's Hear It For the Boy by Denise Williams. Yeah, from the soundtrack to Footloose. Sweet lord it's a terrible song. And it will not leave!

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled schadenfreude...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's hilarious! Sucks to be you!

Oh crap. Now it's stuck in my head.

By the way, I was sure your bonus Schadenfreude was going to be the drunk video of David Hasslehoff! That IS prime schadenfreude!

Happy Friday!

No, it could be much worse. I managed to song-virus myself with Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega just by thinking that it could be worse, and let me assure you, it is. Bleh.

You know you gotta understaaaaaaaaaaand!

Is it bad that I have this on my mp3 player?

Posted by: jaime at May 4, 2007 12:39 PM

Heeheehee.

Although, I shouldn't laugh, as I just got over a freakin' Avril Lavigne "Boyfriend" earworm which was hell. Hell I tell you.

And now I must go back to listening to the new Tori Amos so the same fate does not befall me...

The Footloose song that often plagues me is Dancing in the Sheets by Shalimar.

Obviously I have and know the soundtrack well.

What is it about certain songs that cycle through your brain and get stuck like a hamster on a wheel? And it's usually a really stupid song, too.

Thanks for sharing. Now I'll be singing that all day. lol

Hilarious that you posted this today. I'm going to my daughter's high school tonight to see a musical. Guess which one.

I've heard that the best way to rid yourself of an earworm is to sing Amazing Grace to the tune of Gilligan's Island. At least it takes your mind off whatever was in your head to begin with.

I didn't even need to click the link for the song to begin playing in my head.

That's how evil it is.

It's in my head too! And I'm going to bed soon, it will haunt my dreams...

Posted by: Katherine at May 4, 2007 5:31 PM

I have a deep and serious love for all things "Footloose". It's sad. Really.

Posted by: Isabel at May 4, 2007 5:53 PM

Damn you - now it's stuck in my head!

Posted by: Beth in StL at May 4, 2007 7:58 PM

you know... getting it stuck in OUR heads isn't going to help you any.

Posted by: jodi at May 4, 2007 8:42 PM

omg. now it's stuck in my head!! except it's not even the whole song, or even a verse.. just "Let's here it for the booooy......."

*sigh* i think i hate you now. :P

Dude. I love me good music, but I love me bad music too. That song makes me happy.

Posted by: aimee/greeblemonkey at May 5, 2007 1:31 AM

I hate it when that happens, and it happens to me all the time. For 2 days now I've had, Wishing on a Star by Rose Royce lodged in my brain. It's driving me crazy. But thanks to you now I have your song lodged. Um, thanks.

I actually taped that video off of mtv way back in the day. I used to love that song. I guess I should include that in my music to be embarrassed about list eh?

Possibly the only thing that is worse, okay there are a lot of bad bad songs, but I know that Numa Numa is worse.

And once you get it out of your head here, you can go into any store and hear it. And the store clerks will probably be singing it. Horrible.

I'm glad you have no qualms about infecting the rest of us with it too.
