Haiku For Monday #346

You there, Juan Valdez*
It's me, Chris. Now get me a
tall cup of joe, stat.

*does anyone still remember who Juan Valdez is or did I just go over all of your heads?

I have to be honest, I was very confused trying to work out how an oil spill could get you a cup of coffee for a minute's midnight in Australia, got to give the brain cells some time for things to trickle through.

I'm old enough to remember Juan Valdez and his little donkey bringing the coffee to your grocery store and mine!

Yep, I'm old enough to remember Juan pitching the joys of pure Colombian coffee. These days, pure Colombian usually refers to a different stimulant.

I dressed up as Juan Valdez for Halloween one year when I was in high school. Forgot all about that 'til reading your haiku.

Um, I don't think anyone should be allowed to vote who doesn't remember Juan Valdez.
