End. In Sight. Maybe.
Last week I posted a relatively disturbing before-and-after picture of my face. Granted, it was a comparison between my rather debonair and youthful looking 2011 picture and a rather steroid-driven gray-bearded 2014 face, but, still, it was a little disconcerting.
I've seen a million (only not) doctors, taken a million drugs, had about a million ounces of blood taken and been biopsied. I've been diagnosed with everything from MRSA to stress and everything in between. But none of these have actually solved the problem.
And then came a supposed miracle drug.
I was accepted into something of a clinical trial and get my first round of injections on Tuesday.
Fingers crossed. Seriously. Fingers. Fucking. Crossed.

Chris, I'm not a doctor, I just pretend to be one (27 years in the biz). I am not sure what your problems/diagnosis is. Would you be willing to share more? What dietary changes have you made? I was diagnosed with celiac disease at the ripe old age of 47 which means ZERO tolerance to wheat, oats, barley, rye (etc)...which are in EVERYTHING. Doctors do not go the "food allergy/intolerance" route first, even last. Please email me offline if you wish. I'm here and have a lot of access to legit information. Best wishes, Kara
oh Chris. it's been a couple years since I've checked in (sorrrrrrrrry). you, Beth, M & O have all my good thoughts and prayers. come on Miracle.
Thinking positive thoughts for you, man!
ps - the after photo really was not that disturbing! you looked fine! just different.
Facebook has made me a horrible commenter, but I'm on team Cactus Face.
Thinking of you. I've become a horrible blog follower but am keeping up with you on Facebook. Sending good thoughts your way.
Fingers AND toes crossed!
Fingers crossed! And the after photo isn't disturbing, but a beard does make your face look pretty different. Good thing to keep in mind if you ever need to go on the lam :)
2003 photo, correct? Not 2011. 11 years' difference (not 3) is expected! You just look...11 years older, that's all. :-)
Best of luck! I'm so sorry you're going through this.
