Saturday In Review
I got up early so the first thing I managed to do once I was up and dressed was to fall asleep on the couch reading a book. It was all good until Pixel fell asleep on my head. An 18 pound cat is just one of those things you notice...on your head.
After I'd successfully removed the cat from my head, and done a few things around the house, Beth and I went to the Round House Theater in Bethesda to see a play called Fences. It was good. Long, but good. The Round House never fails to put on interesting productions. This was no exception.
One thing about the Round House Theater is that its located right next to an old folks' facility. So the afternoon matines? A veritable sea of blue and gray hair. Really, if you want to feel especially young, go to this place around three in the afternoon. Just be on the lookout for walkers. Those things? Good for keeping the older folks upright, mere obstacles for the rest of us.
After the play, we headed over to Jaleo for dinner - gazpacho and tapas to be exact. We sat outside and took advantage of the nice weather. And frankly I'm no fashion expert, and I know it was a really nice warm spring day but my god there are people in this world who must seriously not own mirrors. Kudos to the lady wearing a multi-paterned purple outfit with hair dyed to match. Oh, and the high heeled flip-flops? Classy.
After stuffing ourselves, we walked around Bethesda for a while, saw what independent films were playing at the theater, picked up a couple books at the local Barnes & Noble then headed back to the car for the drive home. And I boogied.
All-in-all, it was a wonderful day. Too bad the weather didn't hold out today. It looks like a cool, gray day but I'm okay with that. I've got books to read, music to listen to and more TiVoed stuff than you can shake a remote control at.
I hope you all have wonderful Sundays!

i woke up and went to get the parts dave would need to change my front brake pads/rotors. then i went to the grocery store with his dad. then i came home and proceeded to nap for a few hours. mmmm. i
i seem to have missed out on my dose of the old people today. once i'm back to work tomorrow i won't be left out. the pharmacy is like the old folks playground.
I, as usual, had to be up at 5am on Saturday
What is it that cats think the head is "tha place to be"?
Your Saturday sounds wonderful! I love happy relax weekends like that :)
I have spent the last two days trying to rid myself of this horrendous sinus thing that has made it's way to me. I haven't felt this foggy since I got pickled on my 21st birthday. And I didn't have any fun getting it either.
I think I might go dope myself up now. Is Hannity and Combs on today?
A wonderful Sunday to all!
That sounds awesome! Kevin and I hung out in higby cave for most of the afternoon...
I ran a 10k race today.
huzzah for me.
By the way...I LOVE your purple couch. I may even go so far as to say...I covet said couch
uh huh, by the looks from the picture, Pixel was REALLY bothering your nap *grin*
You falling asleep with the cat on your head is not only adorable but priceless :-D and whoo hoo for the old people lol. It's a sunday, what do you expect?
and hey! I have high heeled flip flops.. well they are more flip flop like with a stilletto heel.. but okay okay, they are high heeled flip flops. Hopefully pairing them with a matching outfit and natural hair colors makes them less tacky ;)
Okay, so it was a saturday not a sunday. same thing applies *nods*.. yes..
what's wrong with high heeled flip flops?!?!?
HOly CRAP. My cat, bambi, must have read this b/c last night? for the first time EVER (I've hat him for 5 years) he slept on my head. Weird.
And high-heeled flipflops? I dont get those either.
I went to see the Chihuly Project at our local art museum. Totally awesome. And, I got my tickets for the upcoming Eric Clapton concert. Hoot! Am I living the good life or what?
Sounds like a lovely day!
My cats don't sleep on my head. No, they like to lie across my throat cutting off my windpipe. At least they don't weigh 18 pounds, though.
They also take the words of that one song to heart - "everybody needs a bosom for a pillow."
Man, what is the name of that damn song? And who sings it? That is going to be irritating me all night now. And I don't even like the song!
