Everything is unique, nothing happens more than once in a life-time. Nothing is repeated, and everything is unparalleled...
-The Goncourt Brothers

In case you're wondering, I'm still here. I'm just whispering.

Posted by Chris at August 18, 2004 04:13 PM

In case you're are we. (We are very patient) Hope you are doing okay...just whisperin...

Posted by: debby at August 18, 2004 04:15 PM

Everyone has a time in their life when whispering is essential.

Posted by: groovebunny at August 18, 2004 04:23 PM

Glad to know you're still around. Take care of yourself.

Posted by: Nicole at August 18, 2004 04:39 PM

okay. Whispering is good. It's better than not talking at all. We heart you, Mr. Cactus.

Posted by: samantha at August 18, 2004 04:40 PM

Okay, as long as you are not telling secrets about me.

Posted by: Genuine at August 18, 2004 04:41 PM

You know, you COULD whisper without the smoke, though. Ahem ...(.-/ (That would be my eybrow raised at you.)

Posted by: Broad at August 18, 2004 04:46 PM

You look so sad.

Posted by: Pixie at August 18, 2004 04:46 PM

You look so sad! I hope your ok!

Posted by: Pixie at August 18, 2004 04:47 PM

Your not even trying to be helpful, and yet you are. I didn't even notice the cig in your hand until Broad mentioned it. I'm a month removed from being a smoker for the last 13 years of my life, and i've noticed every smoker in my general vicinity for the past month. It's a good sign I didn't notice yours. Thanks.

Posted by: Mike at August 18, 2004 05:15 PM

You're breakin my heart Chris. You look so sad.

Take care. We all love the Cactus Man.

Posted by: Scarlett Cyn at August 18, 2004 05:47 PM

I'd offer you a hug if I could. This will have to do for now: *hug*

Posted by: Tara at August 18, 2004 05:57 PM

As long as you keep whispering so we all know your doing ok.

Posted by: Adi at August 18, 2004 06:00 PM

We'll be here, waiting and quietly supporting you until you get your full voice back.

Posted by: bmh at August 18, 2004 06:22 PM

Your voice still works - we can still hear you at a whisper. Hang in there Chris.

Posted by: Sue at August 18, 2004 06:30 PM

first you lost your ass then your head, now your voice is gone. In my world it's called 'fading to black'. So, funny-but V. sad guy, I whisper, 'ever-y-thing is gonna be alright....'
Believe it, or you'll virtually disappear.

Posted by: Lissa at August 18, 2004 06:32 PM

What Debby said.

Posted by: Bond Girl at August 18, 2004 07:14 PM

you gotta know that no matter how hard things are for you now, you have friends, virtual and otherwise, who are thinking of you and behind you all the way.

Posted by: chlamygirl at August 18, 2004 07:32 PM

Glad you at least whispering.

Sometimes we just have to.

That is one damn good portrait, do you take all those yourself?

Posted by: Jeff A at August 18, 2004 07:55 PM

Tis a good picture, and I'm fond of black and whites, but you just look so unhappy. I hope things get better soon.

Posted by: Heather at August 18, 2004 08:45 PM

Glad to see you are still here. But, when is that smile going to return. Take care! Hope things are working out okay.

Life is like a taxi. The meter just keeps a-ticking whether you are getting somewhere or just standing still. -- Lou Erickso

I noticed the cig right away...because I am jealous it is not ME smoking! still miss it! However, I wish you were not so sad. You have the face of dispair! Remember we are ALL here for you! And will be here in good and bad! : ) Gypsy

Posted by: Gypsy at August 18, 2004 09:49 PM

hang in there cactus boy. :)

Posted by: tiffanie at August 18, 2004 11:16 PM

I'm still here too!

My mom said if I ever smoke I would turn into a butt-head! So be careful, Chris!

Posted by: Rockchild at August 19, 2004 01:43 AM

I thought you'd given up smoking?

Glad your still hanging around dude!
Sure do miss you!!

I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Who remembers your face
Who remembers you when you are gone
I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Come back and look for me
Look for me when I am lost
And just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper

Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper

Night turns to day
And I still have these questions
Bridges will break
Should I go forwards or backwards
Night turns to day
And I still get no answers
Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
A whisper, whisper, whisper

Whispering is good, whispering means you're still with us. = ) Take the time you need -- we'll still be here. I am re-reading the archives and catching up to current events. I am in November and found a recipe for Corn Chowder ... guess what I am having for dinner tonight?

Chris, I don't know the specifics of what's going on right now. But I have been there. And we're here waiting for you. Taking care of yourself is always first...taking care of your blogfollowers a close second. ;)

Posted by: at August 19, 2004 03:40 PM

As a matter of fact, I was wondering. :) And I freaking love that picture.

Posted by: Iki at August 19, 2004 05:12 PM

good... whispering is better than not talking. I agree.
Hope everything is back to normal soon...
Hang in there!
