Tuesday Ramblings

Its too early for anything good to have actually happened yet. And frankly, I didn't sleep worth a damn. In my illness, I also managed to keep my lovely wife up all night long. So wit is probably not my strong suit today. But, about last night...in a freaky display of how people grow together in scary ways after they've been together for 12 years...

Her: So, you can't just work from home or call in sick tomorrow?
Me: No, I've got a meeting in Maryland at 9:30, then one at 1:00 and another at 2:00.
Her: Well, no rest for the wicked or weary or whatever.
Me: Did you read my blog this afternoon?
Her: No, why? Should I have?
Me: I used that exact phrase in a post this evening.
Her: Freaky.
Me: Yeah, freaky.

Oh, and yes, as the old phrase goes, a cat on the stove is a penny earned...or something. Pixel was cold. The stove was warm. This is not hard math to do.

Adorable - both you two and the cat. He looks just like my brothers cat.

KITTY!

and feel better. :(

Hope you sleep better tonight! Didn't know that saying about the cat. Cute.

Posted by: JustAgirl at February 1, 2005 08:29 AM

Poor Pixel obviously doesn't know the equally old phrase "A watched pot never boils" :)

Um, cat on gas stove. Not a very good combination because 1) cat on fire is so awful to watch, and 2) burnt cat smell never comes out of the drapes.

Awww! Your kitty is so cute.
Ours was extra super cuddly last night because we had cold, rainy weather.

And I hope that after 5 more years, we'll be as scary as you guys. ;)

Cute kitty!

Um, yeah. What Jon said. Frightfully smelling drapes and furniture is what that looks like to me. ;) And the color of the wall beneath those cabinets - my favorite. Loverly.

Cute picture of Pixel. And I have never heard that saying. Now I have another to add to the list of sayings that don't get. lol

well, nice to see my cat isn't the only one trying to set the house on fire.

My site is gone, but I'm still here! Just didn't want you to freak. I will continue to read and post comments on my favorite sites.

I heard of a cat on a hot tim roof but not a cat on a stove. Hope you feel better.

Posted by: oleblue at February 1, 2005 01:42 PM

Feel better Chris, and GO HOME after your meetings. NO ONE should work when sick.

Posted by: amy at February 1, 2005 02:03 PM

I love that psychic husband and wife thing! My husband and I did that last week with the phrase "I love it when a plan comes together." from the A-Team.

Hope you feel better soon.

I agree, cat on a hot tin stove is something that should stay conceptual. Is this the same cat whose head you banged against something recently?? It must be down to seven lives by now...

Feel better!

You guys? Don't go gettin' any cuter on us now, mmm kay? It's just way too inspirational and lovely for my cynical nature. ;) xoxo

HA! Cats are a kick.

Aw, your cat is so cute! And as far as the freaky remark goes, my husband and I do the same thing *all the time*. I guess you can't accuse your spouse of saying stupid things if half of them are identical to things you say, heh.

Hey, this is off-topic, but im not sure how many of you don't know: WHFS IS BACK~~~!!! It's on 105.7 (Live 105 in Baltimore), and it starts every week night at 7 and goes all weekend long every weekend! I told Mr. Cactus, and he said he didn't know that, so I wasn't sure how many others here hadn't heard either. YAYYYY!!!!

I thought it was a kitty on the stove is worth two in the bush?

Pixel. Heh. I like that.
