What's It Gonna Be?

Tomorrow morning, Beth and I have an appointment to see a guy about a baby. Or a girl. Who knows? See, we're having a sonogram done which means, if all goes well and the view is right, we should know if we're having a boy or a girl.

Now, Beth and I have a hunch as to what we think it is but how bout you guys? Completely unscientific poll: What are we going to have? And what makes you think that? Come on...everyone come out of hiding and let me know what you think.

Posted by Chris at March 8, 2005 08:20 AM

Girl. Gut instinct.

Posted by: Stacy at March 8, 2005 08:24 AM

Girl...don't know why I think this...just do!

Posted by: wn at March 8, 2005 08:26 AM

Girl. I also think that Amalah's going to have a boy. I have opinions on these things.

Also, any guy who plays guitar in a band is usually going to have a girl or two because when the girl hits teenagedom, it's payback. Oh, and the girl is usually stunning.

ie - Wilson Phillips women, Liv Tyler, etc. Flea had a little girl, but I haven't seen pictures in a while.

Posted by: alektra at March 8, 2005 08:29 AM

Well, there's a 51% chance it's a girl... so I'll just hedge my bet with that. Girl.

Posted by: Sepra at March 8, 2005 08:29 AM

Girl. How about Shanaynay?

Posted by: That Girl at March 8, 2005 08:29 AM

A girl totally. I have no idea why I think that though.

Posted by: julie at March 8, 2005 08:33 AM

Wow! Isn't it pretty early to tell? :-S
How far along is she now?
I mean, I dunno... I've never been pregnant... lol
But don't they usually try to determine what sex it is at 6 months, the earliest...
Hmmm... haha, don't mind me, I have no clue what I'm talkin' about. But that would be so cool! I hope you guys have a girl... Just cause. :-)

Posted by: La Bella at March 8, 2005 08:36 AM

Girl! Beth needs someone to share her purse collection with. And either a boy or girl can pick up your love for the guitar. :-)

Posted by: Krush at March 8, 2005 08:38 AM

I think you are having a boy; I also think that you think you are having a boy.

And Krush-- she can share her purse collection with a boy! ;)

Posted by: Jen at March 8, 2005 08:43 AM

a girl. no reason. that's just the first thing that popped into my head. plus, girls rock so it would be totally cool to have a girl first.

though boys are cool too. gee, now i don't know. is it too late to work it so that you have twins?? you're a smarty. i bet you could figure something out.

Posted by: patricia at March 8, 2005 08:51 AM

I said this on Beth's blog too - it's a girl, for no other reason than I just think it IS. Scientific huh?

Posted by: DaFFy at March 8, 2005 09:13 AM

I get a girl vibe. What does your hunch say?

Posted by: bad penguin at March 8, 2005 09:25 AM

I'm usually pretty good at this but I am on the line with this! I'm going to say BOY because it's what popped into my head first.

Posted by: Katherine at March 8, 2005 09:33 AM

I say girl. But that could be because I have two of my own and I can't imagine having a boy.

Posted by: Amy at March 8, 2005 09:36 AM

I am quite confident that it's a boy.

Posted by: martha at March 8, 2005 09:47 AM

I'm thinking boy. Which is good. More work initially than girls, but you won't get the screaming PMS tantrums when they hit Jr. High.

Posted by: Jon in Michigan at March 8, 2005 09:54 AM

I'm thinking boy. I don't know why....

Posted by: Kimmer at March 8, 2005 09:54 AM

add me to the girl list... for some reason, ever since the reveal i've seen you two with a little girl.

and i thought of more names for you...
"your name here"
"hello" (gives a new twist to those "hello, my name is..." name tags)
"the third" whatever the first and middle name, just add III after it...

Posted by: monique at March 8, 2005 09:57 AM

These people are all wrong. You're not going to have a boy or a girl. You're going to have a fish-shaped cactus. OBVIOUSLY!! (hopefully a spike-free one, for Beth's sake).

Posted by: Anakalia at March 8, 2005 09:58 AM

I am going with the underdogs, the BOY camp. But I'm always wrong about these things. I'm so excited that you're finding out tomorrow morn! How anxious you both must be! I would be going crazy.

Posted by: myllissa at March 8, 2005 10:26 AM

well we need to see a picture of Beth to know, silly!

Two actually - one from the front & one from the back. When she's showing. Then I can tell you. My Jewish MIL taught me. She's never wrong.

Posted by: kalisah at March 8, 2005 10:34 AM

I vote boy. I'll always go with the longshot.

Posted by: donna at March 8, 2005 10:37 AM

Girl. I have no idea why I say that... that's just what I think.

Posted by: Snidget at March 8, 2005 10:55 AM

i think it's a boy. just cuz. :)

Posted by: Judy at March 8, 2005 11:06 AM

I think it is a girl. I just have a hunch...but either way it's all good.

Posted by: Milly at March 8, 2005 11:06 AM

I think you guys will have a girl, but I have no logical reason behind why I think that.
But if you're hoping for a boy and get a girl anyway, she can still learn bass - I play (sort of) and my hubby plays guitar, so it could be the same way for you. You play guitar and the baby plays bass. When she/he's older of course. A bass guitar would squish a baby. ;)

Posted by: Kitty at March 8, 2005 11:08 AM

A girl- because I am gonna go over to beth's website and say boy...that way I am bound to get it right :D

Posted by: Amy at March 8, 2005 11:09 AM

Girl! For no apparent reason other than the fact that I looooooooooooove girl babies :) And so would want you to have one too!

Posted by: Luna at March 8, 2005 11:17 AM

I think a boy. This lady at work said that she got more sick when she was carrying her daughter, and I haven't seen too many pukey posts from Beth, so I'm saying a baby boy. This is all very un-scientific by the way.

Posted by: smartjuice at March 8, 2005 11:22 AM

Boy. Slower heart rate. Besides, I'll bet you've got some seriously machismo spermies bringing on all kinds of testosterone.
I can't wait to find out! Are you going to post sonogram pics of the little Lima Bean?!

Posted by: Jade at March 8, 2005 11:26 AM

I think it is a girl---just because I do well because you are so cute and I wanna a girl you a Beth is beautiful and well it has to be a girl. Besides I have always heard the girls are easier to take care of and all so you need a girl and then later wham here comes hell on wheels the boy next time around when you think you know everything and then you find out you knew nothing....yes I want to see the expression on your face the first time you get shot in the face as you change his diaper....

Posted by: Vickie at March 8, 2005 11:40 AM

Definitely a girl. I can feel it!

Posted by: Heather at March 8, 2005 11:41 AM

i say girl, no scientific reason just want you to have a girl and name her angelina ryan or t.r cactus - a.k.a caci [i actually know a girl that is called kaki, same khaki pronounciation]. she's white too which surprised me. but yeah
i hope its a girl

Posted by: angel at March 8, 2005 11:42 AM

I'm going to say boy. I don't know why, but I just have a feeling.

Posted by: j.tonic at March 8, 2005 11:42 AM

Boy. I read an article recently that stated that the birthrate for boys increases during wartime. So I'm playing those odds.

Posted by: Jason at March 8, 2005 11:51 AM

Girl. It's what popped into my head.

Posted by: Fraulein N at March 8, 2005 11:57 AM

All of the best people have a boy first and then a girl. At least, I did. So, I'm going to say boy.

Have you done the pendulum test yet? Tie your wedding band to a string and hold it over Beth's belly. If it swings in a circle it's a girl and if it swings back and forth it's a boy. Or is it the other way around? Anyway, let us know. It was 100% accurate for me and I didn't know the sex of my babies until they popped out. I like being surprised!

Posted by: ms.quilty at March 8, 2005 12:02 PM

Leaning toward girl. Regardless, I'm sure the kid'll be awesome.

Posted by: bmh at March 8, 2005 12:10 PM

Girl. Defintely girl.

Posted by: Dawnie at March 8, 2005 12:13 PM

A girl fo sho...just cause I really want you to have one!!

Posted by: JuJuBee at March 8, 2005 12:15 PM

boy. because everyone in the last round of "people i know having babies" had girls. now, in this round, everyone i know is expecting a boy. You can name him Conchobhar.

Posted by: jodi at March 8, 2005 12:17 PM

A hermaphrodite--why not have the best of both worlds? :P

Posted by: Spring at March 8, 2005 12:25 PM

my first instinct is a boy. i dont know you or beth, so it is hard to say, but i',m definitley thinking boy. also.. everyone is going for the girl route, so i gotta be different, no?!?! good luck! i'm usually right on these things, but try to prove me wrong! ;)

Posted by: Dubs at March 8, 2005 12:38 PM

Because I have a feeling y'all have purchased way too many Classic Pooh outfits and I want to totally eff up the wardrobe plan. ;-P

Posted by: Bond Girl at March 8, 2005 12:42 PM

Twins - a boy and a girl. This way I am not wrong.

Posted by: Jessica at March 8, 2005 12:43 PM

Boy. I have absolutely no idea why, but there you go.

Posted by: SpaceCase at March 8, 2005 12:46 PM

BOY!!! I don't know why, it's just the feeling I get... Hope the scan goes well and you get some good pictures of the Lima Bean :)

Posted by: Emily at March 8, 2005 01:35 PM

GIRL definitely. These things go in waves and everyone I know of is having girls right now. lol

Posted by: amy at March 8, 2005 01:39 PM

I'm saying girl - because um, just because girls are cool. ;)
What do YOU think you're having?! :) ehhe

Posted by: Manda at March 8, 2005 01:44 PM

you're having a female, and your baby will be a girl too.

Posted by: sawni at March 8, 2005 02:18 PM

I've got girl over here. No real reason. Chris, you need a little girl to spoil first (and so Beth can play dress-up with her). Get the frilly stuff out of the way and then have the boy(s). ;o)

Posted by: ironic1 at March 8, 2005 02:20 PM

My wife and I were certain that two of our kids were most definitely biys. I have three girls. I know absolutely nothing about predicting anything. As long as they are healthy - does it matter?

Posted by: Lee at March 8, 2005 02:28 PM

I'm guessing it's gonna be a girl. But if it's not a girl, my guess is that it's a boy. ;)

Posted by: jen at March 8, 2005 02:28 PM

My vote is a boy. That's just what feels right.

Posted by: Leah S at March 8, 2005 02:50 PM

I'm thinking it's a boy...just because.

Posted by: T.Marie at March 8, 2005 02:55 PM

boy because of how beth says she's carrying.

Posted by: laura at March 8, 2005 03:04 PM

You guys will have a girl drummer to accompany her Dad!

Posted by: Miss Chera at March 8, 2005 03:19 PM

I have go with the very scientific description of how Beth has said she's carrying and go with a boy as well. Either way, I'm sure you'll both end up with a lovely baby just as attractive, smart and cool as you two are. :)

Posted by: groovebunny at March 8, 2005 03:39 PM

Posted by: Denise at March 8, 2005 03:49 PM

As much as I'd like to say girl, I think you are having a boy.

Posted by: Pixie at March 8, 2005 04:11 PM

it looks like more people think it will be a girl, so just to be different i will go with a BOY.

Posted by: lizabetty at March 8, 2005 04:31 PM

Hehe... girl :)

Posted by: Mary Jo at March 8, 2005 06:39 PM

Don't know if it's going to wear pink or blue, but I'm betting it's a baby :)

And if there are ten fingers and ten toes and everything else looks okay.....does it matter? Besides. DeWayyyyyyne goes both ways :)

I'm HOPING for a girl.....something tells me you'll be a hysterical dad when she turns 16 and actually wants to *gasp* DATE

Posted by: Kellie at March 8, 2005 06:59 PM

GIRL! :) hehe

Posted by: tiffanie at March 8, 2005 07:11 PM

girl, because she would so wrap you around her pretty little finger :-)

Posted by: Nina at March 8, 2005 09:18 PM

From the time I began reading about the pregnancy, I've felt it was a boy, but I'm usually wrong when it comes to guessing the future, so it's probably a girl. Nevertheless, I'm gonna stick with my faulty, hindsight-producing intuition and say boy!

Posted by: Wildcat at March 9, 2005 05:22 AM

boy. because because because. :)

Posted by: Maureen at March 9, 2005 07:43 AM

Having returned from playing odds in Vegas last week - yay, it was fun- I think it will be a boy!

Posted by: Sue at March 9, 2005 12:09 PM

I'm thinking one of each. Twins!!!

Posted by: ann marie at March 9, 2005 01:15 PM

Boy! I think... :)
