Prom Night?

In our local mall, there's this place that just opened up. Its one of those temporary stores. You know the kind. They've just moved into a space thats been left vacant and they sell seasonal kinds of things so they put up a cheap sign and do very little in the way of decorating. The store seems to sell nothing but prom dresses.

Here's the plan - by May when all the local proms are going down, we're headed out to look for dresses. Beth and I are constantly told we look like we're 14 so no one should bat an eye. They should, however, find the fact that Beth will be seven months pregnant and showing nicely kinda interesting.

Is it so wrong that occasionally we just like to screw with people?

haha, that's awesome. :)

Oh come on, you look at least 16.

Posted by: Amber at March 13, 2005 09:07 AM

LOL - I can't wait to hear all about it :)

I saw the dress I wanted yesterday! It is bright pink with lace and a hoop skirt. I'll look like a knocked-up Scarlett O'Hara. Now, I still think it would be more fun to go shopping for a wedding dress.

Hee. You guys are twisted. I love it.

Please tell me that you'll have someone to take pictures while you're out and about... that's beautiful.

Posted by: amber at March 13, 2005 10:15 AM

That sounds like fun..during my first pregnancy I thought it would be fun to pose for some anti-teen pregnancy posters for Planned Parenthood or sumthin..

be sure to take off your wedding rings...

I'll make the two hour drive just to take pictures from the other side of the room. Hell, I'd just be happy to see the look on the sales people's faces.

That is so fantastic, I can't even tell you. I'm so proud to have inspired this post. :)

TAKE PICTURES.

Nope...a good friend of mine used to pretend that one of us was from an abscure foreign country and only the friend could understand the language. Sometimes I would be the foreign one, and sometimes she would be. You'd be surprised how many people fell for it! By the way, when people think you can't understand english, why do so many of them talk louder??? Do they REALLY think that will make the foreign person understand better?? lol!!!

Posted by: Nina at March 13, 2005 12:53 PM

Yes, take pictures, that sounds like fun. :)

I am 100% for screwing with people. It's a God given I right, I do believe!

Posted by: Chris at March 13, 2005 02:20 PM

Nothing wrong with messin' with people. I'm the type to TALK about doing stuff like that but I could never go through with it. You two, on the other hand, probably are the kind who would go through with it. What fun!

Posted by: ironic1 at March 13, 2005 02:46 PM

wrong? i'd be worried if you DIDN'T like screwing with people.

Posted by: jodi at March 13, 2005 02:55 PM

Maybe you can ask to try on something like this:

You sound like my kind of people!

Posted by: Nicole at March 13, 2005 10:11 PM

Have Beth try on a seafoam green frilly number and you try on some tacky matching tux ensemble (complete with white shoes, white top hat,and cane) and take pictures!

Posted by: geezitron at March 13, 2005 10:34 PM

Sweeeeeeet. That's awesome.

And the dress you guys agree on will HAVE to be the dress that she'd have to wear 50 crinolines under. Or perhaps the one that would fit closest to her body (and the Beanette).

i just wandered in but this idea reminded me of the time my friend joe and i went to a sex toy store and pretended to be brother and sister. it was awesome.

heya, thanks for stopping by mrsmogul. My husband and I LOOOVE to screw with people. that would be the type of thing we would do. I will keep reading yours:)

Posted by: mrsmogul at March 14, 2005 04:34 AM

hehehhe...Can I be there too?

Posted by: Sue at March 14, 2005 10:42 AM

LOL Do it!
My friend and I used to try on prom dresses while we were in college because we also look young for our age. We would try on nearly every dress in the store (of course we'd show each other every dress and talk about it) and then disappoint the sales staff by not buying anything. It was great, and we got to try on lots of pretty dresses! ;)

Posted by: Kitty at March 14, 2005 11:19 AM

Not wrong at all. Rather, it is fantastic.

Posted by: Dawnie at March 14, 2005 11:28 AM

You have to promise to take discreet photos of the entire thing. And then post them here for our enjoyment.

Posted by: Alison at March 14, 2005 02:57 PM

ha ha ha, i bet they'll have something to fit her anyways...let us know how it goes, lol!

Posted by: lizabetty at March 14, 2005 03:23 PM

I am often told I look 17. Can I come try on too? I'm bored.
