Routine Expedition? I Think Not!

I've just been sitting here working all morning and afternoon. The heat's fixed and I'm still kinda tired but I have stumbled on something that's bothering me quite a bit. Why were Marshall, Will and Holly on a routine expedition? And how do they know it was the greatest earthquake ever known? For that matter, how did they survive the drop? Sheesh!

Come on, I can't be the only person that watched this show, as bad as it was. Can I? And by the way, good luck getting that little ditty out of your head.

I didn't even have to listen to it to get the tune stuck in my head (I can't actually, I don't have speakers or a functioning sound card).

Land of the Lost! You have been strolling down memory lane, and taking me with you. First Weebles, and now Marshall, Will and Holly. Those were the days!

Oh, and the Sleestaks, and those crystal rock thingies!

My brother and I loved that show (almost as much as our Weeble Marina)

Oh, and Dopey, wasn't that Holly's nice little dinosaur friend?

I'm gonna stop now.

I had the biggest crush on Will! To hell with reason! I got to swoon over someone on a children's show. Heh!

I LOVED Land of the Lost. The only reason I didn't buy the DVD when I first saw it was because my sister was with me and she gave me this look that let me know I'd lose any bit of respect she has for me if I even touched the box. Some people just don't know good TV. Shut up. I meant my sister, not me.

What else was there to watch at 6am on a Saturday morning while you waited for the good cartoons to start.

My son has no idea how good he's got it between Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon.

Apparently I can't stop.

My brother and I also changed the theme song words to: Marshall, Wool and Wooly, cuz that's what kids do. Damn, we were funny ;)

Obviously children are REALLY good at suspending their disbelief. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.*sigh* Memories....

ok - i don't know the show, and this? " And by the way, good luck getting that little ditty out of your head." was enough to make me NOT want to press that little play button.

I used to love this show! It's right up there with Sigmund & the Sea Monsters and H.R. Pufnstuf. The only thing I didn't like in Land of the Lost was that creepy furry guy, Chaka.

Posted by: Milly at March 22, 2005 03:47 PM

H.R. Pufnstuf. Those who don't think that's a thinly veined reference to smoking illegal substances, raise your hand.

Question for the group: Who was hotter - Electra Woman, or Dyna Girl?

And Doctor Shrinker - isn't calling him a "madman with an evil mind" a bit redundant?

Sid and Marty Krofft were my surrogate fathers.

Chaka see dinosaur! I LOVED that show. I still whip out the occasional phrase and do my imitation of a Sleestack. Goes over like a lead balloon. I guess not as many people remember that show as I thought.

If you tell me you know who Gary Gnu is I'll think you are the coolest guy ever!

HAHAHA I had completely forgotten about Land of the Lost! I used to love that show on Saturday mornings!

that song has been stuck in my head since the first day i watched that show. i, too, have wondered exactly WHAT that routine expedition was all about. And how come no one else has fallen down that... whatever they fell down. And what do they wear while they wash the clothes they wear over and over.

i am too young, you LOST me

Posted by: lizabetty at March 22, 2005 04:39 PM

LMAO! I thought my family were the only people on the face of this earth that remembered that show!

Posted by: groovebunny at March 22, 2005 04:40 PM

OMG! That was the GREATEST show ever! You are too young to remember it, though... Aren't you? Must have been in reruns by then. I actually watched it when it was for real! :) When they were still actually TAKING the JOURNEY! heh. It was awesome...

Posted by: Keri at March 22, 2005 05:12 PM

LOL Yeah! I remember that show. The Sleestacks used to scare the hell out of me! My brother would pretend to be one and I would run away sreaming in terror! He thought it was a blast! I on the other hand did not... LOL.

Well as for Garry Gnu... No Gnus is good Gnus... The Great Space Coaster!

I will NOT listen to your little ditty. The LAST thing I need is another crazy-ass song stuck in my head. It happens too much as it is. When I was in highschool I would get music I didn't even know stuck in my head. I remember being kept awake a couple of times because it felt like there was a radio playing quietly in my head on a station I wasn't familiar with...

Thanks, thanks a lot. I had that flippin tune in my head the other day and just got rid of it and now...

now it is back

damnit

Posted by: Jeff A at March 22, 2005 05:53 PM

I have not listened to that tune yet. I LOVED Land of the Lost too. Oh my god, I can hear it in my head. Apparently, I don't actually have to hear it either.

The sleestacks used to scare the shit out of me too.

I loved that freakin' crystal though.

And her braids! I wanted braids like that. Their dad was even cooler then the Professor on Gilligan's Isle.

Posted by: jen at March 22, 2005 06:30 PM

Gee, thanks Chris. I think I'll slit my wrists now. I can't get this out of my head since I listened to this earlier today.

Posted by: Lori at March 22, 2005 07:34 PM

Oh. My. God. My husband and I are laughing hysterically now. We make the Sleestak noise and the kids look at us like we're insane. :)

Posted by: Lisa at March 22, 2005 08:36 PM

OMG...nooooo! Don't make me admit I had a mad crush on Will..nooooo..

Posted by: T.Marie at March 23, 2005 06:50 AM

Never saw that show. But thanks for the little ditty anyways!

Posted by: Jade at March 23, 2005 09:55 AM

OMG I used to LOVE that show! I saw an episode years later when I was older...and wondered what the heck I had liked about it LOL.
