Chant With Me, Everybody!

Three down, two to go...three down, two to go...three down, two to go...

That's the mantra I'm repeating over and over in some bizarre zen-like thing I've got going on to try and keep myself reasonably centered throughout the last two days of the week. Each and every day this week I've had, and will continue to have, Big Important Meetings. Meetings in which there is an assumption that I can speak the English language and that, having learned to pronounce the words correctly, I correctly bring these words together in some logical fashion and use them to speak authoritatively about something. And I've learned already this week if I start consciously thinking about what I'm saying as its coming out of my mouth, I'll just get really lost and wonder what the hell I'm talking about. So, essentially, I'm just running off at the mouth this week and hoping that I don't promise clients that I'll come clean their houses or wash their cars.

But there is an end in sight. You see, after this week? Vacation. Vay.Cay.Shun. Three syllables that make a world of difference. In the mean time, miles to go before I sleep and all that jazz...

I do have to mention, I picked up Mike Doughty's new album Haughty Melodic and I've been blaring it in my office this morning. Its early. There's no one around. If you want some music that'll make you happy? Get this album. Really. I mean it. Would I steer you wrong?

I am doing the same thing. I am going to be at the beach next week for much needed R&R before a big meeting and a big interview in your home town. I am getting excitedly giddy about the whole thing! Have fun on your trip!

Wait- I thought that was the first rule of working in big business, not to listen to the words coming out of your mouth? Or is that only my boss?

Hey, as long as all you do is ramble in meetings and you don't manage to, you know, fall over or something, you're doing a lot better than me.

Good luck. You'll get to that vacation soon.

I'm jealous. My Vay.Cay.Shun doesn't happen until Memorial Day, in which I will take two days off and take my son to see dinosaur fossels. Not at all the shopping marathon I myself would've chosen for a vacation well-spent. I guess you should get used to doing what YOU want to do on those guys now, before Bean is born...

Lucky you. Where are you going on vacation?

Oh and here I thought all those managers were all like smart and stuff ~ worth all the money thrown at them, I think "I" should get their paychecks since "I" do the real work! Giggle...I will look at my Meeting Monster Managers and just raise an eye brow! Snort

Hum...I want a Vay-cay-Shun..."my" Independence day which is Memorial Day is coming up! That would be a solid 5 years of freedom and fun! : )

Om...Om...Om...we will make it to Friday! I still have to clean my house for a party here on Friday night! Shudder

3 down, 2 to go, 3 down, 2 to go... I'm right there with ya but I don't have those 3 precious syllables to give me any relief. I still don't get vacation time yet, by the end of this month I will be eligible to take it but I don't have all that much time accured yet.

If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your BS!

Well, my friend, today is my LAST DAY OF WORK, so I am just as happy as could be. Also? I'm leaving for a little mini vacation in the morning up to Napa. No work AND wine...nice, no?

Tara and I are going to see Mike Doughty on Tuesday, and I'm so excited. He puts on such a good show, and we haven't seen him since last June.

I sure could use some Zen after being told I'm being laid off in 7 weeks from now... I hope you enjoy your vacation!

Mike Doughty you say?

I shall pick it right up.

As for me... I'm chanting... five o'clock... five o'clock... (Snidge has long weekend)

OMG! Mike Doughty is awesome! I don't know you and you don't know me, but someone I know pointed me to your site and now I'm instantly in like with you. Ok, and the "the food, not the people" helped, too.
