Packing Heat

"The problem with driving is that you have no reason to edit."
- My Wife

Its true. When you're just going to load everything into the car and drive for a day, there's no good reason not to take half the clothes you own...including 18 pairs of shoes or some horrifying number like that. Which is why it looks like we'll end up with, oh, about 7 bags for two people.

My landlord and his wife when they first had their son were packing to go away for a weekend, the back of their suv looked like the survivors of a tag sale they had so much stuff! They had not one but TWO strollers, for on child lol!! When I asked them why they needed two, they tried to come up with a reasonable answer and then just gave it up saying they had no idea why but it seemed like a good idea at the time they packed lol!!!!

that's why driving always kicks flying's ass. except for the whole speed issue.

What good does it do you if you can't take it with you?

Well, 18 pairs of shoes might be a bit excessive. Hope you had a great time.

My God. How did it get that bad BEFORE children?

You know, this means that once Bean is here, ya'll will have to rent a small U-Haul. Seriously. The stroller, the playpen, the toys, the diapers, the wipes, the clothes, the swing....

Have a great vacation:)

I absolutely agree with Queen. You better learn how to divest now or buy a Suburban. This is how people end up with a kid and a minivan. Have a blast.

I tried to overpack for several car trips, but our car is too small so I only get to bring a few pairs of shoes. Hope you had fun.

Eighteen pairs of shoes -- uh oh, that is approaching Carrie Bradshaw proportions! ;)

Have a great time.

As the wife of an overpacker, I *have* to ask... Who packed the majority of the stuff?? ;)

Have a great holiday kids!

An Underpacker.

Over packer? Unreasonable? 18 pairs of shoes? Never! It is completely reasonable to me! : ) I pack like that as well...and then lug it everywhere wondering why one bag is not enough! It is that whole gathering/nesting thing women have, some of us, have it on high speed!

I'm always amazed at the sheer volume of crap that I end up with for road trips. We're going out of town soon, and no doubt I'll have 5 bags to QuirkGuy's 1 duffel. It's embarassing, really.
