Musical Friday Meme

Its Friday (yay!) but I've got a conference call nice and early followed by meetings in DC (boo!). So, no better time for a meme, huh?

1. Total volume of music files on your computer?

Right around 56 GB. Yes, I have my own separate hard drive just for music. Because I'm just that obsessive compulsive.

2. The last CD you bought was?

I bought a couple - I can't remember exactly which came first. I've picked up Mercury Rev's followup to All Is Dream, The Secret Migration. Athlete's Tourist is proving to be one of the better albums I've picked up in the last few months. Ben Folds' Songs for Silverman isn't bad either. Blinking Lights and Other Revelations by Eels is also excellent as is Mighty Rearranger, Robert Plant's latest effort.

3. Song playing right now:

I Love - Athlete

4. Five songs you listen to a lot or that mean a lot to you (in no particular order):

Invisible Ink by Aimee Mann
Ten Years Gone by Led Zeppelin
Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness by Joe Satriani
Signal To Noise by Peter Gabriel
Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley

5. Which 5 people are you passing this baton to, and why?

How bout this...if you're interested, post your own answers. No pressure. But come on. You know you wanna!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Great list- some new ones to me and this is my weekend to go get new music because Bonnie, when I tagged her, had a couple I didn't know. I like the Wainwright version of Hallelujah a bit more. And while Pomp and Circumstance is sort of so-so as fine music goes, congrats again to DM! Have a great long weekend.

Wait- I'm 13 years early! I was thinking of John at Muzik with the congrats! You- well, the Beanette's hat is almost done. What time is it, anyway?

Already did this meme!!

So you are an Eels fan?! Nice. Wait you have 56G of music - you're everyone's fan!!

Seriously though, how does that Eels album compare with Galaxy of the Daisies(I think) or the one with Novacaine for the Soul on it??? If you have either of those.

I've done this meme, and inflicted it upon others. Just so you know. Cos i'm that kind of pedantic.
But 56GB?? You SO win.

We have only just begun to tap the glorious potential of our iPod. I kicked my music addiction a few years back, but now...I wanna ride the White Horse. On my "Must Buy" list - the new releases from Audioslave, Coldplay, the White Stripes, Ryan Adams, Oasis, Spoon and Gorillaz.

I'm a HUGE Ben Folds Five fan - they were brilliant live. Ben's solo stuff (MHO!) is a bit tame.

Currently listening to "Mail Package", by Umphrey's McGee, recorded live at the Crystal Ballroom, Portland, Oregon, 4/20/05. (Heh heh - 420...)

"Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley" I love that song too. I think I got it from The OC soundtrack cd.

But actually, you mentioned Rufus Wainright a long time ago. Curious me, listened to some songs of him, and I fell in love with his version of Hallelujah.
