The Painting Whistler

Are you guys out of questions already? So far, they're fabulous but I know you guys are more inquisitive than that! Come on...you know there's something you want to ask!

Meanwhile...

When I arrived home yesterday, the painters were there, well, painting. Normally, I'd do it but we have a very large area running from the basement up to the second floor that I have neither the time nor the inclination to do. Also? Some of its really high and I don't want to break my neck. Beth barracaded herself and the cats in our bedroom to stay out of their way. I joined them when I got home. Sitting there talking with Beth, I quickly got used to all the normal painting noises - ladders being extended, hammering of paint can lids, tearing of masking tape, rolling of wet rollers. But out of all that confusion came this sound, a sound that resonated throughout the house. It was a whistle but a whistle like no other I'd heard before. It was almost operatic. The melodies were unfamiliar but gorgeous. After a while, I poked my head out of the bedroom door and found that the sounds were eminating from a tiny, old Hispanic guy. Boy could he whistle.

Okay, ask questions.

Whats your favorite song in the whole wide world?????

I'm glad things are going good for you guys! I hadn't had a chance to check on you since I popped early.

i had a great question for you, but it was one of those thoughts that you have right before you drift off to sleep and now that i'm awake i can't remember it. so, that being said...

what great thoughts have you had before falling asleep? solved world hunger? ended the energy crisis? maybe figured out that word problem from 9th grade algebra?

Would oyu ever start another rock band? And if so would you play at the Iota.

Posted by: verucaamish at June 22, 2005 09:54 AM

Dude, nice double entendre in the title.

If given the choice (and the ability to inact that choice) would you rather be an expert whistler who is completely content with your life in all of it's lack of complexity, or would you rather be a rock star who battles the complexity of life and has to pay the price of fame.

oh man, whistling drives me NUTS. i work with a chronic whistler. if he's not talking or working on his computer, he's whistling.

How did you get the Blog "followship" that you have?

Not that I want it... (I, myself, would get tired of responding to everyone who posts)Just curious.

what is this hispanic guy's name? is he a neighbor? maybe you should make friends... or teach you how to whistle. ;) can you whistle?

Posted by: Dubs at June 22, 2005 11:17 AM

Why can't I think of anything good to ask you?

Posted by: Gwen at June 22, 2005 11:27 AM

alright, here's my question:

did you ever have doubts about your relationship with Beth? for instance, in the early parts of the relationship, did you ever question if it was right and question whether or not you two were 'meant to be'?

Posted by: Judy at June 22, 2005 12:01 PM

I asked my questions already, greedy! :) Thanks though for reminding me that I have to paint my guest bathroom, it's small-ish so I should be able to handle it myself, without any whistling Hispanics... ;)

I feel like you're my long-lost Duckie. I haven't talked to you in ages, so I thought I would just stop in and say hello. -waves- I hope all is well with you! We have to catch up sometime...

And I WOULD ask you questions, except that my mind is a total blank. I think I'm having one of those non-blonde moments. How creepy.

Nice dub in the title, there.

I already asked you a bunch of questions like that LAST YEAR, MANG! haha.

Hope you and "soon 2 be" Mommie are well today.

I gotta say, I don't have questions...I tend to just soak in what people choose to divulge and find it all very fascinating.

I like this whistler story...an appreciation for one moment in the grand scheme of life.

Heh. You're so gonna regret this questions thing. Mine's a MT one.

If I wanted to create a page that has excerpts from several different blogs on it, how would I do that (they all use MT)?

See? Heh! Free MT advice and training! (Don't hate me because I take advantage.)

I'm curious as to whether or not you and Beth have seen, "What the Bleep Do We Know", and your thoughts on it. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it...

One more: Favorite brand or flavor of coffee? I have to ask that one, being a coffee snob and addict myself. :)

Really cool about the painter. Maybe you could ask him if you could record him and share with us as an audioblog.
Can't believe no one asked you if you have any tattoos or piercings.
When did you last cry?
What quality do you look for in a potential friend?
Do you have any weird eating habits? I love to smash up all the chips in the bottom of a potato chip bag, put them in a bowl, sprinkle with vinegar and eat with a spoon. And I cannot eat a sloppy joe without mayonnaise. Seriously, you must try it...
What was the last thing that caused you to ROFL?
