Of course, right after this there was a poop of epic proportions. So, it's not all giggles and happiness.

she is smiling because she knows about the upcoming poop of epic proportions. :)

I'd gobble those little cheeks right up - she's so freaking gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!

I think she likes being on vacation!

Posted by: Amber at September 30, 2005 03:21 PM

Oh my gosh! Okay. I admit it. I want one.

Posted by: jen at September 30, 2005 03:21 PM

Dude, the phrase is actually "shits and giggles".

Posted by: bhd at September 30, 2005 03:27 PM

What a wonderful smile.

Posted by: cassie-b at September 30, 2005 03:47 PM

Oh. The toothless gums. I forgot how cute those are.

Posted by: Jenny at September 30, 2005 04:01 PM

She looks like a dwarf!

Posted by: Rhonda at September 30, 2005 04:18 PM

I've been away too long. Beautiful girl you have there. I'm speechless. And Mia short for Amelia? That's brilliant! Best wishes to the new family :)

Posted by: Kathryn at September 30, 2005 05:40 PM

Ah, who cares what the source is with smiles like that? (Then again, I'm not the one changing her, heh.)

Posted by: Spring at September 30, 2005 06:05 PM

Hahaha, that's exactly why she's smiling. She's laughing at you guys for what you were going to have to do next.

Posted by: ava at September 30, 2005 06:15 PM

you know what they say...sometimes it's just sh*t and giggles!

Posted by: tiffanie at September 30, 2005 06:27 PM

Hey, the kid has great priorities! Nothing makes me grin quite like getting ready for a nice seat on the throne!!

Posted by: BillH at September 30, 2005 06:47 PM

look at those cheeks! BTW untill she's out of diapers there's going to be poops from hell, from hell I tell you.

You're going to wonder how in the hell your beautiful daughter can stink that much, and how poop can get from their butt to the back of thier ears!

Ah parenthood.

I also wanted to add, this since I saw that you've been a donor that is up and running!

I'm a volunteer and a submitter. But I wanted to tell you that people have the option of either giving to the breast cancer foundation or the Red Cross as the recipient of their donation(s).

She is adorable. Hope the coast is treating everyone well. Glad you posted the giggle picture instead of a poop one. Did you say poop before Mia? I don't think I used the word "poop" once before having our first child. But immediately following his birth, "poop" became a pivotal part of our vocabulary. It's probably been used ten million times in the last five years.

Posted by: Mayberry at September 30, 2005 10:02 PM

Hey, better out than in!

Does she look like Beth or what?

Posted by: Kris at September 30, 2005 10:04 PM

Good gravy. I'm just wrapping up the first trimester of my first pregnancy here, and pictures like this go a long way in reminding me that the ultra-uncomfortable symptoms I'm having are going to be FREAKING WORTH IT. Your daughter is ridiculously beautiful.

I also love the mophead picture below, lordy lordy lordy!

Posted by: Tina at September 30, 2005 11:32 PM

You know... before seeing this picture, I always associate "toothless, gummy, grins" to old people. Not anymore though! How freaking adorable is that!?

Posted by: Amber at October 1, 2005 01:27 AM

Awwww, SO cute :))

Posted by: Sweety at October 1, 2005 03:49 AM

I'd really like to have on of those. *sigh*

Posted by: nina at October 1, 2005 05:43 AM

she has that, Dad I'm gonna lay a GIANT shit in pants and you're gonna change it" hahahahahahaha sucka yeah you gonna change my poopy diapers hahahahah its great being a baby I rock oh yeah. I'm barely 1 year old and I have you totally under my control, now stop looking at me all googly like and go rustle me up some of the green mushy stuff in a bottle you call peas and make it snappy.

Posted by: shaners at October 1, 2005 08:41 AM

Ha! If you haven't already, get ready for the poop-bomb. Mason has managed, on more than one occasion, to poop so much that it works it's way out of the diaper, up his back and onto whatever he's wearing. He's like a nuclear play-doh fun factory...without the fun part. We actually have to call in a Haz-Mat team to fumigate.

Blog on,

Look at your beautiful little girl. She must know the smiling makes up for the scary poop.

Posted by: bad penguin at October 1, 2005 10:03 AM

Heh. Yep, she was laughing at her cruel joke that she was about to unleash on you. ;)

Posted by: Kitty at October 1, 2005 12:20 PM

She's such a dolly!

Posted by: Kelly at October 1, 2005 12:43 PM

What a beautiful photo, I could just kiss the screen.

Posted by: Jenn at October 1, 2005 11:23 PM

she is so beautiful!

Posted by: Betty at October 2, 2005 12:18 AM

I don't care what provoked such a smile... Cuz you just have to admit it's so precious!!

I loved it the most when my kids were that little and they'd smile and coo in their sleep.. it was so adorable... and then they'd burp, spit up, fart, or take a dump... but it was still adorable, lololol

Best giggle toothless grin ever! And so glad I wasn't present for the epic poop! I remember those days and they were the reason I was ultra skinny! (mom threw up each time! shudder)
