In Hiding

Maybe if I hide well enough, Monday won't be able to find me.

That Sole Provider thing is really getting to you, huh? Let me know if this works though, I'm willing to crawl under a rock if I have to. I start work at 6am on Mondays and it's terrifying, especially when you have to use the defrosters on the drive in...
First comment two times in one week! I must be online way too much ;-)

I can still see you. Mondays always come, but if you find a good place to hide, let me know. I dont want to meet with those that be monday.

Is my mother stalking you? Sheesh. At least you have weekends. My job? There is nothing to distinguish between a Saturday and a Wednesday and I don't even get a lunch break! I won't even go into the compensation ;)

Posted by: JuJuBee at October 23, 2005 10:44 AM

Oh is that how it works? (runs fast to hide)

Posted by: Jenn at October 23, 2005 10:52 AM

Don't count on it, but if you find the way to do that, please share. I'll give you my first born son (if he can get off work).

In the meantime, Have a wonderful Sunday!

Posted by: cassie-b at October 23, 2005 11:01 AM

Yeah, let us know if that works, because I have a great closet I can hide in if it will keep Monday from finding me.

Posted by: donna at October 23, 2005 11:11 AM

Is there room back there for me? I'm trying to hide from Monday as well.

Posted by: wendy at October 23, 2005 11:18 AM

I try this every week. Unfortunately, none of the hiding spots I've tried work. If you make a breakthrough, though? Be sure to let us know :)

Posted by: Daria at October 23, 2005 11:42 AM

Or maybe your just hiding from certain people? ;)

Hey...awesome about the Sole Provider gig. Well...maybe not so much for you (ha ha) but wonderful, wonderful, wonderful for little Mia. There will be crunchy times (let's face it, it's SO not glam being at home all day when you can't just watch Oprah and eat bon-bons!) but you and Beth will never regret this powerful important decision! Way to go!

Is your kitchen always that CLEAN?!

Posted by: Marilyn at October 23, 2005 12:01 PM

I am sorry, but I hope Monday will come, because then Friday will come that much faster, and then the Boy will be back.

Yes, he just left ten minutes ago. Yes, I am self-medicating with chocolate...

Posted by: alektra at October 23, 2005 12:07 PM

Awww....I wish, but I don't think that's gonna work, Sugar!

Posted by: Queen Of Ass at October 23, 2005 12:44 PM

The neighborhood kids LOVED you for a game of hide-n-go-seek, didn't they? "Let's find Chris, part of him is always sticking out!"

Are you sure you're hiding from Monday and not your turn to change a poopy diaper?

Happy hiding!

Ooooh! Ooooh! Can I come too??? Plleeeeeeaaasssseeee???!!??

Posted by: ironic1 at October 23, 2005 12:59 PM

This is the first time I've posted, but your blog keeps me entertained, I read it every few days and always go back to read what I've missed.

How lovely for Mia that Beth will be with her for those precious first years.

Nice curtains. Now Monday knows what they look like and will find you much quicker. Goooood move!

Posted by: bhd at October 23, 2005 02:52 PM

wow. i wish it was that easy.

Posted by: suze at October 23, 2005 03:00 PM

Monday always finds you. Didn't your mother every tell you that Monday has eyes on the back of his/her head?

Posted by: Neil at October 23, 2005 03:01 PM

You sneaky, sneaky man you. If only, if only. Also, the pic kinda makes you look like one of Calvin's (a la Calvin and Hobbes) freaky snowmen, with the semi-decapitation. ;)

Posted by: Heather at October 23, 2005 03:51 PM

sorry monday came looking for me so I pointed him in your direction. :)

the flickr pic, yeah saw that at work and had to take a pic :)

Posted by: penguintarts at October 23, 2005 04:57 PM

Get outta there and be a man, C'mon, you are embarrassing yourself!!! :) ahahahahahahahaha! Good luck with all the hiding...you can count on me not to tell. I am good at keeping secrets! ;)

Posted by: Kate at October 23, 2005 05:34 PM

Can I hide there too?

Posted by: Rori at October 23, 2005 06:50 PM

Is there room back there for me?

Posted by: Laura at October 23, 2005 08:48 PM

I work 7 12s right now. However, Monday's still suck. Sunday is kind of on the slow side. Come Monday morning, all hell breaks loose and I'm buried under towers of files and data and all sorts of fun stuff.

If that hiding place works, let me know. I could use it.

Posted by: Sichy at October 23, 2005 09:55 PM

If it works, let me know and I'll try next week.

Posted by: Stephanie at October 23, 2005 09:58 PM

LMAO...when I saw the picture, I thought you had done something to piss the Missus off. But I understand the desire to hide from Monday. Mondays suck, but don't worry, I won't ask you tomorrow if you "have a case of the Muundays". LOL.

Hi Rude Cactus, this is Monday. I know you're trying to hide from me but barring the second coming - 7 years of tribulation will come first and I'm sure some of those are mondays - I will see you in a few hours.

Keep trying to hide. Resistence is futile.

i only wish this where true...

PS: love the pic

Hey Chris, I ran across this and thought you might get a kick out of it.
Got the Monday work blues?
Overall Tips:
Take comfort in knowing that you are not alone in feeling miserable on Monday morning. There are millions of folks out there feeling the same way.

Overall Warnings:
If you are constantly feeling blue or depressed, seek psychiatric help. Ask your family doctor or a close friend to recommend a psychiatrist who is experienced in handling depression. Some universities offer psychiatric services at a reduced cost as a way to train psychiatric students and interns.

But hey, keep this in mind, in the game of "Hide and Seek", as long as you don't yell "ready"! No one will come look for you!! ;o)

Totally feel for you dude. Congrats to Beth with taking that big step-I'm sure it's scary, but you're definately doing the right thing. Maybe she can find a job that she can work from home? Anywho, Monday found me too. And way too soon. I'm still trying to recover from the GWAR concert I went to last night in Philly. Rock on!

Posted by: Michelle at October 24, 2005 08:43 AM

lemme know how that works out for ya, cuz if it works i'll have to try it!!
