Taste The Rainbow

Note to self: Children, specifically little girls named Mia, will attempt to consume as many crayons as is humanly possibly while you're not paying attention. This results in a happy child with a purple mouth.

See more crayons!

LOL Cracking me up on this Sunday afternoon Chris. Thank God crayons are non-toxic these days. Still don't envy you when you have to change THAT diaper! Have a great day man.

My dog loves to eat (and then barf) crayons too. And my son is more than happy to feed them to her. So I can understand how that is....

My crayon related lesson is that when you let your son take them home from the restaurant, they will never actually be taken OUT of the car, and will result in a red cup-holder. That never actually can be tan again EVER.

Looks like you had as much fun playing with the crayons as Mia did eating them!

OH! Also - I love the new titles you're sporting on your side bar!

Crayons are delicious...that initial crisp snap, followed by the waxy goodness melting in one's mouth...mmm. OK, maybe not so much...lol.
Just keep the purple mouth in mind when you change the purple-flecked diaper in a day or two and wonder WTF????

Posted by: Jaycie at June 25, 2006 03:26 PM

the purple one's are the tastiest.

Just wait until you look in her diaper tomorrow tomorrow... :)

are there photos of Mia and her crayola mouth?

once, i convinced my cousin that crayons were really bubblegum. that is probably one of my favorite memories ever.

Anya (1yo) LOVES to eat crayons. Makes me crazy. My 3yo is constantly chasing after her to try to pry them out of A's hand or mouth. Good times. Can't wait for the mouthing stage to pass... even if it means the mouthing off stage (which only lasts about 16 years) has to start.

There is something so appealing about brand new, crisp crayons. They make me think of a crisp, white canvas and an ocean of possibilities.

Also a diaper filled with green/red/purple baby diahhrea, which is maybe not as inspiring.

I'm with Mia. I love crayons, although, alas, not to eat. When I open a new box of crayolas I get so excited I can hardly stand it! And woe be to anyone who uses my crayolas incorrectly and leaves them with no tip! So no, I won't be sharing them with Mia. I would guess she is a tip chewer!

Better a purple mouth that big purple crayon circles on the flat finish walls. When you go to repaint? Be prepared to buy lots of Kilz.

What is it with kids and crayons?

Me: Julia, have you been eating crayons again?

Julia: No, Mummy.

Me: Why are your teeth green?

I don't think my daughters got that memo, neither one ate them.

I think you may be onto something with the colors. I certainly prefer colorful potential treats to any others!

Yum

I gave Joey one (tiny) chocolate chip, and this resulted in a happy child with a chocolate mouth--a chocolate goatee...yes, from one (tiny) chocolate chip!

My Dog is actually a lover of all things Crayola. I swear he can sniff those babies a mile away. GROSS!

and the techni-colored poop show, as it is called in our house.

I can't believe you didn't include a photo of the rare, purple-mouthed Mia.

Posted by: Annie at June 26, 2006 01:13 AM

Lovely! The crayon shots are really great...little disappointed I didn't get to see a purple mouthed child though :)

Haha...Gotta love Crayola!! My mom told me that I once drew a big McDonalds yellow arch on the wall after we went there to eat. I guess it must have been that good!! Oh, and I live pretty close to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. It's a pretty cool place...Possible roadtrip for Mia? She would be in her glory with all those crayons!!

When I was in kindergarten, red was my favorite color to eat.

Posted by: Sepra at June 26, 2006 11:25 AM

I have a picture of my son with a green crayon up his nose. He thought it was the coolest thing. I should post it sometime - its hilarious.

Wax on, wax off...hey, SOMEBODY had to say it. LOL.
