Full-Contact Parenting

Her: Be careful there. You know, someday we might decide we want a little brother or sister for Mia.
Me: Well then, I need a pair of stunt-nuts.
Her: Stunt-nuts implies you've got a nut-double. Which you don't.
Me: I'm painfully aware of that.

And then Mia spent the evening kissing my knees. And giving them drinks. Because she's obsessed with them. Kids are weird. Of course, some of their parents are too.

What fun!! But please, protect the jewels at all cost.

Friends of ours had a very weird kid who would sit on your lap and play with the skin on your (or anyone's)elbow...which he called "MY belbow!" and was not afraid to yell it. And this was with people he didn't even know--always grabbing for their "belbow". Until he was 6 years old.

While the young boy is only a pre-teen now, I hate to speculate on what he'll become as an adult.

Nah, not weird, just cool.

What a Dad will do to entertain their kid. My husband puts a million random things on his head.

Now that you have brought up a sibling for Mia, everyone will be asking Beth if she is pregnant.

Amateur. You haven't really lived until you've taken a 16" Huffy on the open road. Make sure your affairs are in order first, though.

Posted by: Contrary at January 3, 2007 07:54 AM

That's why god gave us men two.

Posted by: William at January 3, 2007 08:16 AM

Sweet ride. The guys at the office should be jealous...Is that Fisher-Price or Playskool? ;)

Posted by: Michelle at January 3, 2007 08:17 AM

Most men could probably do with a pair of stunt-nuts at times!

Posted by: E :) at January 3, 2007 08:30 AM

This put a smile on my face this morning. You rock!

Posted by: mdv at January 3, 2007 08:33 AM

Life is never boring there huh? ;)

The kids and Mr. Foot and I were once all snuggled up on Christopher's bed, reading a book. Sophie (about four at that time) sniffed Mr. Foot's knee and exclaimed, "Daddy smells like cheese!" Awesome.

My husband probably wishes he had stunt nuts for those times I threaten to kick them. However, since they are the "family jewels" he knows none of my threats are serious, because I do in fact want kids one day and I'm not going to be the one to jeopardize that. Stupid empty threats.

Dude whose the blue naked cartoon chick on the wall behind you? Hoooottt EEEE!

After a vasectomy my balls hurt more than they have ever hurt in my life. TMI I'm sure.

Take care of those cojones!

Posted by: fw sunshine at January 3, 2007 09:51 AM

What? No helmet or knee pads? Tsk Tsk...
And if you'd wear a cup while riding that thing you wouldn't need a stunt nut.

Posted by: wordgirl at January 3, 2007 10:14 AM

I think all dads need to get issued a pair of stunt nuts, given how often kids seem to stomp on them.

Posted by: Kate the Shrew at January 3, 2007 10:18 AM

Stunt nuts. Who would want that job?

Posted by: Sarah, Goon Squad Sarah at January 3, 2007 11:14 AM

The sweet quad (with the purple wheels) from yesterday's post might provide a more pleasant environment for your nuts. Though I hear they're tough on the taint.

What next, you gonna take Mia on in a little half court? ;)

Posted by: JayMonster at January 3, 2007 01:44 PM

Posted by: Dolly at January 3, 2007 01:57 PM

Hee. Stunt-nuts. I need stunt-boobs for the teething.

Posted by: Leah at January 3, 2007 03:41 PM

My daughter had one of those cool cars once. Hers was pink of course. I was able to get on it and go crusin, but I don't think I could fit on it these days.

Posted by: Mary at January 3, 2007 04:01 PM

Oh man, you are both killing me today at work with your posts. Stunt nuts and wang, you're a virtual vat of classiness!! ;)

Posted by: Teenuh at January 3, 2007 04:09 PM

I would imagine being a nut-double pays pretty well! Maybe after you and Beth get done having your 2.5 kids? ;)

Posted by: Tink at January 3, 2007 04:16 PM

I should have been here earlier, but I was too tired to mosey on up to the computer. That after Day 1 at the gym

Posted by: Maribeth at January 3, 2007 04:31 PM

Stunt Nuts would be a great name for a band. I bet if you put in ad in the paper, you'd get responses from all KINDS of folks interested in being your stunt nuts.

Tell the truth, those are photos from New Years Eve after Motrin and Yellow Tail had been consumed. On second thought Motrin and Yellow Tail was probably consumed after the fact too.

Posted by: Josh at January 3, 2007 06:10 PM

You're so silly! You guys always make me laugh...

Posted by: Emily at January 3, 2007 06:56 PM

BTW - I really dig that flower picture hanging on the wall in the background of these photos. Nice.

Posted by: erin at January 3, 2007 07:03 PM

So, um, the toys that you got for Mia for Christmas - they're all toys SHE wanted, right? You didn't, oh I don't know, throw one in for yourself maybe? I'm just saying...

Posted by: Beth in StL at January 3, 2007 08:36 PM

Perhaps you just need a driving cup. Do they make those?

Posted by: angela at January 3, 2007 08:57 PM

Man, been so busy I've only been able to sneak in for little peeks, and I gotta tell you, it's always entertaining.

btw... shouldn't everyone's knees get kisses and drinks?

stunt nuts...

Posted by: Karen at January 3, 2007 09:48 PM
